Tesla Gigafactory
Bay Area-based Tesla is in the midst of building what's expected to be the world's largest manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries. Tesla's so-called Gigafactory is rising up from a Nevada desert near Reno -- and is being touted as a potential game-changer in the efforts to reduce greenhouse gases. KQED Science reporter Lauren Sommer recently got a rare look inside the factory.

Republican Senate Forum
The presidential election is casting a huge shadow over the race for a new U.S. Senator to represent California. But voters have a big decision to make about who will follow retiring Democrat Barbara Boxer. Scott Shafer, KQED's California Politics and Government senior editor, talks with three Republicans hoping to replace her: Duf Sundheim, Tom Del Beccaro and Ron Unz.

Jack Ohman Interview
It's been quite a week for political cartoonist Jack Ohman of The Sacramento Bee who was honored with a Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. He's been creating political cartoons since he was a teenager, and at age 19 was the youngest cartoonist ever to be nationally syndicated. Jack Ohman joins Thuy Vu to talk about his work.
