Valley Fire
Fire crews say they're making progress battling a wildfire that has destroyed nearly 600 homes in Lake County, claimed three lives and injured several firefighters. KQED's Scott Shafer and Sukey Lewis talk about what they saw as they were reporting on the Valley Fire.

Xi Jinping Visit
Next week, Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the United States to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama. The trip comes amid rising tensions between the two countries over alleged cyberattacks.

Guests:
• Anna Han, Santa Clara University law professor and director of the school's Center for Global Law and Policy
• Mary Kay Magistad, former China correspondent for "The World" and NPR

Naatak
The Bay Area is home to one of the largest Indian-American communities in the country - and to one of the largest Indian-American theater companies: Naatak. This year Naatak is celebrating its 20th anniversary and putting on "Vrindavan," an original musical production. KQED sat in as the company held its final dress rehearsal.
