Ballot Box Battles
Continuing KQED's California Election Watch 2014 coverage, we take a look at several high-profile ballot box battles. This November, voters in some Bay Area cities will decide whether to tax soda and raise the minimum wage. On the state ballot, Prop. 45 targets health insurance rates, while Prop. 46 would raise the ceiling on damages in medical malpractice suits.

Interview with Ro Khanna
Ro Khanna's bid for one of California's seats in the House of Representatives will require beating incumbent Mike Honda from winning an eighth term. Honda has the support of the Democratic Party, with endorsements from Governor Brown and U.S. Senator Nancy Pelosi. Khanna, an intellectual property lawyer and economics lecturer at Stanford University, has endorsements from San Jose Mercury News, San Francisco Chronicle and valley tech leaders including Eric Schmidt, Sean Parker and Sheryl Sandberg.
