It should be noted, as is sometimes the case when writing about San Francisco board actions, that the supervisors have no jurisdiction over the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which is run by the U.S. National Park Service.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is discussing a resolution to oppose the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's proposal to restrict off-leash areas for dogs. Dog owners vehemently oppose the plan, and supervisor Scott Wiener, who has taken the lead on the issue, says he is worried that the policy would adversely impact city parks.
