About 1,800 flights around the country were cancelled and thousands more delayed early Friday due to a snowstorm in the Northeast.

At San Francisco International Airport, there have been 26 arrivals and 12 departures cancelled today, the airport said, the majority from JFK in New York, Logan Airport in Boston, and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Currently, all flights arriving at SFO from Philadelphia and Newark are expected to be delayed 2 to 2 ½ hours

There have been four cancellations at Mineta San Jose International Airport: Southwest flights from LA and San Diego and a Jet Blue flight from Boston, the airport said.

At Oakland International Airport, a Jet Blue flight to Long Beach has been cancelled.

In Southern California, officials say 46 flights in and out of Los Angeles International Airport had been scrubbed between Thursday and early Friday, affecting more than 5,500 passengers. KNSD-TV in San Diego reported that nearly 20 flights have been canceled at San Diego International Airport due to the storm back east and dense fog on the Southern California coast.
