Because of new restrictions and shelter-in-place orders, it is safe to assume that every concert, performance, museum or cultural event in the Bay Area has been canceled or closed for the time being.\u003c/em>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003cem>On March 17, a \u003ca href=\"https://www.kqed.org/news/11806988/sheltering-in-place-what-you-need-to-know\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">shelter-in-place order took effect for six Bay Area counties\u003c/a>, requiring people to stay at home and leave only for essential activities.\u003c/em>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003cem>On March 16, the CDC \u003ca href=\"https://www.kqed.org/arts/13876716/cdc-recommends-against-gatherings-of-50-or-more-states-close-bars-restaurants\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">warned against gatherings of 50 people or more\u003c/a>, including “conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies.” Governor Gavin Newsom also \u003ca href=\"https://www.kqed.org/news/11806871/newsom-calls-for-closure-of-all-bars-in-an-effort-to-increase-social-distancing\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">called for the closure\u003c/a> of all bars, wineries, nightclubs and breweries.\u003c/em>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003cstrong>Stay up to date on full coronavirus coverage \u003ca href=\"https://www.kqed.org/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here\u003c/a>. \u003c/strong>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Concern over the spread of the coronavirus has caused the cancellation of many concerts, performances and other cultural events in the Bay Area.[aside postid=\"science_1957877\"]\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Below, see a list of cultural events, concerts and performances canceled or postponed due to coronavirus concerns.
