A Really, Really Great Snow Year for California

Good news from the mountains, as today's snow survey found that the statewide snowpack is at 162 percent of average.

It's been an incredible winter for skiing in the Sierra, but more importantly that means there will be plenty of snowmelt to flow (hopefully gradually) downhill to water a thirsty state.

This sure beats last year, when I did a very different sort of snow survey cartoon.
