Scores of Bay Area school districts closed schools on Friday due to unhealthy air quality from the Camp Fire.

Smoke from the tragic Butte County fire has spread a hazardous pall over much of California, leading health officials to urge people to stay indoors or wear a respirator mask when outside.

The deadliest wildfire in modern California history, it was 45 percent contained by Friday afternoon.

On Thursday evening, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office revised the list of missing persons up to 631 people from the previous list that totaled 300.
