Bethany Hamilton Surfs for First Time Since Birth of Her Son

Starting today, pro-surfers will be competing in the Central Valley at the World Surf League’s wave pool in Lemoore. Bethany Hamilton, 28, will surf as a wildcard competitor. She’s known for her book, “Soul Surfer,” where she recounts losing her left arm in a shark attack at age 13 in Hawaii. But Hamilton says that she’s not worried about sharks this weekend, just catching waves.
