Children Separated From Parents Held in Tent Shelters Along U.S.-Mexico Border

The California Report brings us stories from inside shelters in Tornillo, Texas and Southern California, where children are being separated from their parents. Customs and Border Protection detained the children as their families attempted to cross the border into the U.S. from Mexico.

No matter what you think about the politics of the Administration's zero tolerance immigration policy, the stress of being separated from a family member who has crossed the border illegally can be rough on young children. Just ask Dr. Colleen Kraft. She's president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and she recently toured a government-run shelter for these kids along the Texas border.
