California lawmakers have failed to block Elon Musk's sale of 20,000 flamethrowers.

Started as a joke on social media in an attempt to sell 50,000 hats bearing the logo of his Boring Company, Musk is following through on a promise to ship flamethrowers to 20,000 customers.

Gun rights advocates quickly came to the defense of Musk's flamethrowers and weighed in against AB 1949, which would've limited the sale of flamethrowers.
