One of the biggest legacies Mayor Ed Lee leaves behind is a booming tech sector, fostered in part by his fight to give Twitter tax breaks to stay in San Francisco.

The year 2011 seems like a lifetime ago, back when the city was trying to emerge from recession, keep tech companies in San Francisco and revive the mid-Market area.

The "Twitter tax break" clearly attracted tech companies, although it also drove up rents and real estate prices throughout the neighborhoods of San Francisco.
