Thousands of residents who lost their homes in the Northern California fires (and in many cases, their cars and all other possessions) have a very big to-do list ahead of them.

Once families are safe, it's a long road to rebuilding lives upended by the devastating fires. I can only imagine the details involved in starting completely from scratch.
