There’s nothing silent about the San Francisco Mime Troupe, which this summer celebrates 50 years of bringing comic political theater to audiences in the Bay Area and around the world. In a special pre-recorded broadcast, we talk to some mime troupe veterans and hear highlights from half a century of musicals with a message. We’ll also get a preview of this summer’s mime troupe show, “Too Big to Fail.”

Guests:

Bruce Barthol, chief resident songwriter until 2007 for the San Francisco Mime Troupe

Joan Holden, principal playwright for the San Francisco Mime Troupe from 1967 until 1999

Velina Brown, actor with the San Francisco Mime Troupe

Ed Holmes, actor with the San Francisco Mime Troupe
