San Jose’s Agnews Developmental Center will close its doors by the end of this week following 120 years of looking after developmentally disabled patients. With the current policy of moving residents to smaller community homes, the closure leaves only four such centers in the state. We take up the issue of housing and care for California’s developmentally disabled.
