Enormous Southern California Methane Leak Spurs New Gas Storage Legislation

A methane gas leak at a Los Angeles County storage site has been spewing the pollutant into the air for two and a half months. More than 4,500 families either plan to or have moved out of Porter Ranch, many complaining of a terrible smell and health effects including nosebleeds, headaches and vomiting. Forum discusses what Southern California Gas is doing to try to stop the leak and what it means for the environment. We’ll also look at new state legislation announced Monday that would put stronger safeguards on gas storage sites.
