Artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph has always been a soccer fan, from his days kicking the ball around as the child of Haitian immigrants to attending World Cup games in South Africa and Brazil. His new multimedia performance, /peh-LO-tah/, explores the complexity and cultural impact of the world's most popular sport. The show, which incorporates live music, spoken word and soccer inspired dance premieres this week at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
