A first-in-the-nation law that took effect in January lets Californians sell home-cooked food. The Homemade Food Operations Act, AB 626, requires that each county must opt in and set regulations to prevent food borne illness. On June 6, Riverside County became the first to accept applications for so-called micro enterprise home kitchens.
