Drag Disasters: A Climate Show feat. Eve Swallows, VERA!, King LOTUS BOY, Helixir Jynder Byntwell
Climate change is one of the major stories of our time. It’s why KQED reporter Ezra David Romero writes about how climate change is altering the Bay Area. But our warming world is also a big part of why Bay Area drag artists are using their platforms to advocate for the environment and those who work in it. In this KQED Live event, four local drag artists – VERA!, Eve Swallows, King LOTUS BOY, and Helixir Jynder Byntwell – join Romero for a night of drag, conversation, and competition.
Watch local drag artists perform songs with a climate message, and listen to a conversation about why drag is a powerful platform for climate advocacy. As the night draws to a close, we invite you to be part of the action. Show off your best climate-inspired drag and strut your stuff on the runway. Our esteemed judges will be on the lookout for the most captivating amateur performers and will crown a few winners for us to all admire.
Sign up to walk the runway here!
