About “Utah!”
This is a true story. My boyfriend and I spent the month of June in Utah, avoiding all the chaos of Gay pride. Seeing an entire year’s worth of queer cultural programming packed into a few weeks is disquieting, so we leave town. We’re nature people. Southern Utah is part of an ancient ocean floor. The sea has come and gone many times. There’s something very humbling about walking on a salt flat. You know you’re just a blip, that humans are careening toward extinction. This is a performance essay.
