We’re gonna have a party this Friday night.
Thing is, we’ll never be a super-band until we have Eddie Van Halen on guitar. But we won’t get Eddie Van Halen until we have a triumphant video. But it’s pointless to have a triumphant video before we even have decent instruments. But how can we have decent instruments when we don’t really even know how to play? That is why we need Eddie Van Halen. And that is why we need a triumphant video. Excellent!

Finally 1983’s Get Crazy is a rollicking, Lou Reed-intensive rock-music-biz parable and satirical valentine to the Fillmore East that’s more goofy and insane than all those other films put together.
To borrow a phrase from the latter, “Rock ‘n’ roll is gonna be fun again!” And what more could anybody ask of an August Friday evening? If this night doesn’t drop you, nothing will.
