“Sunday School” begins with a simple premise — a woman is asked to teach a second-grade Sunday school class — then plays out various scenarios that might follow. Sometimes it’s about faith and sometimes about identity, community, love, mid-life crisis. But most of all it’s about the perils of volunteerism. “Sunday School” first appeared in the Spring 2008 issue of ZYZZYVA.
