Toni Mirosevich reads the first story from her nonfiction collection, Pink Harvest. "The View" involves a homeless man, an acute care clinic in an urban hospital, and a viewfinder. It's a few days before Christmas.

Toni Mirosevich’s nonfiction Pink Harvest, winner of the First Series in Creative Nonfiction Award from Mid-List Press, contains 25 nonfiction stories or “tales of happenstance.” Each story explores the shifting, tilting moments or encounters that can happen on any given day, whenever any of us walk into the world — a chance meeting with a homeless stranger, getting pulled over by airport security during an orange/red/pink/mauve alert, or a day when, out of the blue, you feel a wave of loneliness while pumping gas. In the book, every chance or accidental happening has a way of linking up with other accidental, unremarkable moments to form a wide net of meaning.
