The full lineup has been announced for the 25th-annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, taking place at Golden Gate Park Oct. 3–5.
National treasure Lucinda Williams is a returning artist to the festival, as is Australian guitar wizard Courtney Barnett. Jazz vocal phenom Samara Joy — who routinely sells out headlining shows in the Bay Area — makes her debut, and Robert Earl Keen, who tried to retire from touring a while back, should be a fan favorite.
Two other things to look for: the String Cheese Incident’s jam-band sensibilities in a bluegrass festival setting (expect at least one Grateful Dead cover; it’s Golden Gate Park, after all), and Chuck Prophet’s new cumbia project with a band of Latin musicians from Salinas.
Here are the complete daily lineups.
