Zainab Johnson is effortlessly funny, hip, and just a bit rude. She’s a Muslim comedian who stars in the new web series The Avant-Gardians, and she refers to herself as the “happy medium” between Amber Rose and Oprah. She often jokes about dating (like so many comedians), but also her Muslim faith, politics and tense police interactions. She even pokes fun at Beyoncé, risking the wrath of the “Bey Hive.” And she’s playing four nights at the Punchline in San Francisco through Feb. 17. Details here.
