The Brothers Comatose play a series of end of the year shows (Photo: Courtesy of Brothers Comatose)

The Brothers Comatose play original bluegrass influenced by Bay Area rock and punk, with rowdy shows. But at heart, this band, led by Ben and Alex Morrison, are a throwback. They used to play for friends around campfires growing up in Petaluma, and they toured the Sierra foothills on horseback last year (we hope the bass got to ride in the van). These days the band is working with the ingenious producer John Vanderslice, an occasional co-host here at The Do List, and their singles and videos are funny and sound terrific. They’re doing a series of the end of the year shows that should be a gas. Details here.
