As the week’s Do List co-host Jamedra says, we could all use a laugh these days. So we’re lucky that John Witherspoon, the grumpy foul-mouthed father from the Friday movie franchise, is coming to San Jose. Witherspoon was a regular for years on The Richard Pryor Show and The Wayans Bros., and more recently he’s appeared on Black-ish. Think of him, at least in standup, as the Redd Foxx of modern comedy: rude, silly and very funny. He’s playing San Jose Improv on Aug. 25–27, and you can find details here.
