Festival season kicks off this month in the Bay Area, and we’re really excited to bring you the the third annual Phono del Sol Music & Food Festival on July 13. This episode features new music from Phono del Sol performers Blouse and Painted Palms, two of the twelve great bands that will be performing. Speaking of all-day fun, the Burger Boogaloo brings Oblivians, Redd Kross, Jonathan Richman, Fuzz and more to Oakland’s Mosswood Park on July 6 and 7.

Beyond the festivals, there are plenty more excellent shows coming up in July. Powerdove‘s Annie Lewandowski started her band in the Bay Area; she’s back in town on the heels of Do You Burn?, recorded with Deerhoof’s John Dieterich. If you’re in the mood for something heavier, there’s Hausu‘s mix of indie rock and punk sounds, as well as SF’s Deafheaven returning from tour after releasing the acclaimed Sunbather.

Enjoy the podcast and then go see some concerts!
