Lydia Fong, Robert Pimple, Twist, or Barry McGee — no matter what you call him, this San Francisco artist continues to obliterate the gap between street art culture and fine art institutions, and his first retrospective (at the Berkeley Art Museum) is nothing less than spectacular. The show, featuring works from the ’80s to now, is an enormous gift to our community. We couldn’t wait to show you a few sneak peek photos of the exhibition, which opens tomorrow, Friday, August 24, at 11am. See you there?
Stay tuned for more Barrymania!
Barry McGee runs through December 9, 2012 at the Berkeley Art Museum. For more information visit bampfa.berkeley.edu.
