The lineup for the third-annual BottleRock music festival in Napa has been announced, including Robert Plant, No Doubt, Imagine Dragons, Snoop Dogg, the Avett Brothers, Passion Pit, Foster the People, American Authors, Echosmith, Public Enemy and many, many more.
Apparently receiving the memo that last year’s fest was far too heavy on ’90s has-beens (yes, there was an actual duet between the Spin Doctors and Blues Traveler’s John Popper), promoters this year have thrown together a welcome mix of current acts with the occasional curveball (the Gipsy Kings, Preservation Hall Jazz Band) and plenty of local bands (Con Brio, the Brothers Comatose, Afrolicious and many more).
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, having turned to a gothic type of folk music in recent years, should prove a popular draw in Napa, as should the return of Gwen Stefani and No Doubt—one of the few 1990s bands on this year’s bill.
BottleRock runs May 29-31 at the Napa Valley Fairgrounds, and tickets go on sale Jan. 8. In standard big-festival fashion these days, $235 three-day passes go on sale first, with price increases leading up to the festival date and single-day tickets to be announced at a later date.
