Q-CARESQ-CARES
Q-CARES is a volunteer initiative of KQED’s Community Advisory Panel that helps strengthen connections between KQED and the communities it serves. Q-CARES works to build trust, foster understanding, broaden community voices and perspectives, and create opportunities for people to turn engagement into action.
Its work includes building relationships with Bay Area nonprofits and small businesses, supporting community engagement at KQED events, and helping connect KQED audiences with people and communities featured in its journalism.
Supporting people and communities featured in KQED stories
If you hear a KQED story and feel inspired to help the person or community you’ve learned about, Q-CARES can help you take action. Q-CARES provides a way for you to support people and communities featured in KQED stories while allowing KQED to focus on what it does best: independent journalism and public media.
To protect KQED’s editorial independence, donations are not made to or administered by KQED or its newsroom. Instead, Q-CARES works with Philanthropic Ventures Foundation (PVF), an independent 501(c)(3) public charity, to receive and administer charitable contributions. Contributions made through this partnership do not influence KQED’s editorial decisions or coverage.
