Brock Turner Case
The case of Brock Turner, a 20-year-old former Stanford student convicted of rape, has sparked widespread outrage from those who say the six month sentence he received is too lenient. The case is fueling debate about sexual assault on campus and how class and privilege play out in the criminal justice system. It's also prompted a recall of the Santa Clara County judge who presided over the case, Aaron Persky.

End of Life Option Act
This week California became the fifth state in the nation to legalize so-called "aid in dying" with the End of Life Option Act. The law allows adults diagnosed with less than six months to live to request prescriptions to end their lives when they choose.
