Apple-FBI Feud
This week, a judge in Southern California ordered Apple to help the FBI unlock an iPhone belonging to Syed Farook, one of the two terrorists who killed 14 people in San Bernardino in December. Apple's CEO Tim Cook vehemently opposed the order, calling it an "overreach" by the government that would compromise millions of customers' privacy and security. Tech giants Twitter and Facebook have sided with Apple. NPR's Digital Culture correspondent Laura Sydell joins Stephanie Martin Taylor to discuss the case.

SCOTUS Vacancy
A political battle is brewing over who will replace Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's vacant seat. During a visit to California this week, President Obama acknowledged the difficulties of getting a nomination past Republican senators. There are also questions about how Scalia's death will affect the cases pending before the high court. UC Hastings College of the Law professor Rory Little provides some insight.

Alex Padilla Interview
Close to 7 million people in California are eligible to vote but are not registered. California Secretary of State Alex Padilla talks with Scott Shafer about why more Californians aren't voting and how he hopes to change that.
