After Gov. Brown announced the California National Guard would be providing up to 400 Guard members to "supplement the staffing of its ongoing program to combat transnational crime," Trump initially tweeted his thanks.
The president has since tweeted multiple times criticizing Gov. Brown for insisting that the California National Guard not enforce immigration laws.

Despite recent presidential tweets and contradictory messaging from the Trump administration, the Pentagon confirmed that the deployment will be funded.
