Yesterday marked the opening of the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival, running through March 22nd. The festival is the largest showcase for new Asian-American and Asian films, and serves as an important launching pad for new talent. We take up that question, and find out about the highlights of this year’s festival.

Guests:

Corey Tong, producer, writer, chief creative executive of Makai Motion Pictures and former director of the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival

Jennifer Phang, writer and director of the debut feature film "Half-Life"

Chi-hui Yang, festival director of the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival

HP Mendoza, writer, composer and actor in the film "Colma: The Musical" and director and composer of the new film, "Fruit Fly"
