A recent high school water polo tournament ended with one player facing felony assault charges. Contra Costa County prosecutors allege that a 15-year-old Acalanes High School athlete purposefully struck his opponent during a match, resulting in a broken nose. The case raises questions about violence in youth sports and how it should be handled by coaches, parents and schools.
