Journalist Gustavo Arellano is known for his in-depth political analysis and his long running syndicated satirical column “¡Ask a Mexican!”. But he’s also considered one of the leading experts on the history of Mexican food in the U.S. His work was the inspiration for a new play, “¡Interview with a Mexican!,” that explores the stereotypes and perceptions that make up outsiders’ views of Latino culture. He joins us to talk about the play, which is being staged at MACLA in San Jose this weekend.
