Festival La Onda, the Latin music festival held annually in Napa since 2024, has been canceled this year.

“Unfortunately, the 2026 Festival La Onda will not be taking place,” reads a statement on the festival’s website. “We remain hopeful that a future Festival La Onda will be possible. Until then, we are proud of what we created together and deeply grateful to the fans who supported La Onda.”

The site also states that ticket buyers who purchased through the festival’s direct ticket outlet will receive “a full refund in as little as 30 days.”

When contacted by KQED, a spokesperson for the festival did not give a reason for the cancellation. This year’s lineup had included J Balvin, Christian Nodal, Maná, Ivan Cornejo, Orishas, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and others.

La Onda began in 2024, running the weekend after BottleRock and held on the same fairgrounds at the Napa Valley Expo, as a way to serve the Latino population so crucial to the region’s wine and hospitality industry.

La Onda also extended the use of BottleRock’s existing stages, permitting and infrastructure for a second weekend, a trend in music festival promotion. Coachella in Southern California runs two weekends in a row, and last year, the promoters of Outside Lands in San Francisco added a country concert and a Grateful Dead celebration, making for three weekends of music in a row.

A page of frequently asked questions regarding the cancellation, and when ticket buyers can expect refunds, is on La Onda’s website now. Those with further questions are encouraged to email queonda@laondafest.com.
