Filmmaker Biographies
Sam Green recieved a Masters degree in journalism from the University of
California at Berkeley where he studied documentary with the acclaimed
filmmaker Marlon Riggs. His first documentary film The Rainbow Man/John
3:16 premiered at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival and screened at
festivals worldwide. It won the Grand Prize at the USA Film Festival in
Dallas and won Best Documentary awards at the Ann Arbor Film Festival
and the New York and Chicago Underground Film Festivals. His recent
short film Pie Fight '69 screened at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival
and won First Prize at the Black Maria Film Festival. Mr. Green lives in
San Francisco and teaches at the University of San Francisco. He is
currently an artist in residence at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Bill Siegel has worked in documentary film production for 10 years. he
conducted research for the acclaimed film Muhammad Ali: the Whole
Story and Hoop Dreams. He recently worked on Spyglass Films' upcoming
documentary The Supreme Court and Blackside Films' documentary The
Great Depression. Mr. Siegel currently lives in Chicago and works as an
educational trainer for the Great Books Foundation.
