KQED collaborates with independent producers to deliver programs to public television in a number of ways. The station presents finished programs to the public television system ("Presentations"), promoting and distributing them to our sister stations across the country. KQED provides production assistance to selected independent projects. Through in-kind donations of staff time and equipment we help finish these programs and prepare them for broadcast.
KQED, in partnership with local foundations, also provides funding for local filmmakers, giving them that critical amount of cash needed to get their projects off the ground.
