The importance of staying active and involved is at the core of this powerful documentary that challenges common stereotypes of the aging process. Young-at-heart surfers—ranging in age from 60 to 93—reveal themselves to be vital members of society with positive outlooks and a life-affirming message. It features ten surfing pioneers, intercutting their life stories with archival and contemporary footage of what many consider to be the sport of kings. The program, narrated by actor Beau Bridges, dispels the myths of aging by promoting healthy living through friendships, family, love, spirituality, activism, playfulness and a realistic sense of the changes associated with growing older.
