The ridiculous goings-on at Grace Bros. have kept audiences laughing since 1973. This tongue-in-cheek farce, by top writers Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, is one of BBC's classic comedies.

The glamorous rep for the "His and Hers" perfume company arrives at Grace Brothers, and is placed in what has been the neutral ground between Mrs. Slocombe's and Mrs. Grainger's departments. The two unite to battle the new enemy, but find that victory is not always sweet.

A wealthy customer loses a large diamond from her pendant and offers a nice reward for its recovery. This starts a chain of conspiracies among the staff because no one wants to share the reward. A shipment of jeweled evening gowns adds to the complications.

Grace Brothers is holding an anniversary dinner for Mr. Grainger, and it is probable he will be told to retire. He doesn't want to go, his friends don't want him to go, and all do their best to keep him. Their efforts turn out to be useless, until Mr. Grace himself shows up at the dinner with a pleasant surprise.

The British government has asked everyone to conserve fuel supplies, and so the management of Grace Brothers turns off the heating. The staff goes to surprising lengths to keep warm, utilizing the store's stock in most creative ways.

Grace Brothers may seem quaint and old-fashioned with extra personal attention, but their eye is still on the bottom line. When sales in Ladies' Lingerie and Gentlemen's Ready-Made begin to drop, the staff are asked to pool their ideas for improving sales.
Big Brother (#110) Duration: 28:56 TVPG
Grace Brothers management decides to install a closed circuit television system to keep an eye out for shoplifters, as well as to keep an eye on the staff. This idea does not go over well at all, as the staff decide they do not want to be on TV!
