Drawing from two recently discovered German color film collections that comprise more than 10 hours of previously unseen color footage, this documentary tells the astonishing and disturbing story of the man who whose fanaticism led to the greatest tragedy in human history. It features actors reading pertinent excerpts from Hitler's diaries and letters as well as those of his mistress Eva Braun and Nazi leaders such as Albert Speers and Joseph Goebbels. It also depicts the surrender of France and the conquests of Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland, as well as a visit by Hitler to his boyhood home and school, and intimate scenes of the Fuehrer's inner circle at his Alpine retreat.
