The Eve of St John (Episode #148H)

Lillith (Hara Yannas) walks through eerie Crows Wood with a feeling she's being followed. She runs and trips, crashing to the ground. As she turns to face her attacker a stone bears down on her head... Months later at the Kembleford parish council meeting Anglican Reverend Allsworthy (Oliver Gilbert) and Methodist Minister, Reverend Gillespie (John Sessions) report that the clergy have been tasked to form a committee to report about the moral threat of a coven in the village. Father Brown (Mark Williams) points out that witches aren't Satanists. However when the village drunk spies on an initiation ceremony in the coven, he's terrified to see High Priest Eugene (Ken Bones) raise a sword to Dione's (Estella Daniels) breast. When Inspector Mallory (Jack Deam) finds blood there the next day it would appear that the witches are not quite as benevolent as they maintain.. .

The Labyrinth of the Minotaur (Episode #147H)

An intruder enters Lady Felicia's (Nancy Carroll) bedroom, snapping on the light to reveal her niece Bunty (Emer Kenny). She's gone on the run after being photographed with a married man - can she stay with her favourite aunt? Felicia asks Father Brown (Mark Williams) and Mrs McCarthy (Sorcha Cusack) to look after Bunty while she attends business in London. They visit Davina, Lady Malmort (Frances Barber) to see how wayward girl Ruby (Caitlin Drabble) is faring as the new maid. Davina's son Bobby (Ed Cooper Clarke) is thrilled to see Bunty, insisting she stay for dinner. That night Bunty finds Ruby in her room trying on a stole, which Bunty gives to her. The next morning Bunty discovers Ruby's crumpled body outside and when Bunty's bloodstained stole is found, Inspector Mallory (Jack Deam) arrests her as the prime suspect...

The Star of Jacob (Episode #146H)

Canon Fox (Roger May) pays a visit to inform Father Brown (Mark Williams) and Mrs McCarthy (Sorcha Cusack) that the Duke of Frome, John Langton (Ray Coulthard) will be attending Christmas Mass at St Mary's. This year the Bishop wants everything done by the book and Canon Fox will be there to make sure it all goes to plan... Lady Felicia (Nancy Carroll) is delighted to welcome her cousin the Duke, his wife Diana (Zannah Hodson) and baby David to stay at Montague. Later at the Yuletide ball Inspector Mallory (Jack Deam) is informed that the infant is missing. With a ladder against the nursery window, the Inspector surmises that the baby has been kidnapped; all they can do now is wait. Can Father Brown find the child in time for Christmas?

The Wrath of Baron Samdi (Episode #145H)

KQED Plus: Mon, Jul 10, 2017 -- 7:00 PM

Baron Samdi is the voodoo spirit of the dead that Emmanuel Jannite invokes when he follows his love, Yveline Lafond, to Kembleford. Lafond is working as lead singer in a Haitian jazz band. The band leader, also in love with Lafond, is found dead in a swimming pool, poisoned, and Jannite dies following a police chase. Inspector Mallory believes the case closed but Father Brown's snooping uncovers the real killer. As he confronts him, Brown collapses as the killer tells him that he has already poisoned him that morning.

The Sins of the Father (Episode #144H)

Robert Twyman, a leading aeronautics magnate, receives a note that his son, a piano player and contestant in a local variety show, would be killed if he does not confess. Next morning the son is found strangled by his piano in a locked house with only his father and butler present. Twyman is convinced a journalist piano-player rival of his son is the killer. Inspector Mallory arrests Twyman after Lady Felicia finds him standing over the dead body of the journalist by her piano. Father Brown notices that both pianists had been somehow playing the same music and the answer is to be found in a book given to him by Doctor Mordaunt Jackson, a psycho-analyst currently giving a lecture in Kembleford.

The Resurrectionists (Episode #143H)

KQED Plus: Sun, Jul 2, 2017 -- 5:00 PM

Father Brown is puzzled when the grave of a recent burial is opened and the body is missing, only for it to turn up at the premises of a different undertaker. Inspector Mallory is even more mystified as the victim died of decapitation in a motor cycle accident with no sign of other injury. The undertaker is arrested and the animosity between him and the victim's mother is evident for all to see. Father Brown uncovers the reason behind their hatred and the forbidden love which the victim had for the undertaker's daughter.

      (DT25.1 through 25.3) Recent storms have taken out dozens of trees on Fremont Peak, which in turn have taken down power lines leading to the transmission tower located on the peak.
