LEGAL HIGHS - Marijuana became legal in Washington D.C. today after voters approved a ballot initiative allowing possession of up to two ounces of the plant last November. MAKING SENSE: SOCIAL SECURITY - Most Americans depend on social security in retirement yet navigating the system is often complex and confusing. Economics correspondent Paul Solman has co-authored a new book on the ins and outs of the benefit system, and tonight shares some of what he learned for his weekly feature, "Making Sen$e Thursdays."
EYE ON THE STRUGGLE - A new biography delves into the life of Ethel Lois Payne, a pioneering journalist and significant figure of the civil rights era. Gwen Ifill discusses her work and her legacy with author James McGrath Morris.
RISING UP: HALE WOODRUFF'S MURALS AT TALLADEGA COLLEGE - In 1938, Talladega College in Alabama commissioned African American artist Hale Woodruff to paint a series of murals for its library. The murals, which tell a powerful story of enslavement, rebellion and repatriation, are now on view at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. Jeffrey Brown has the story.
