    AFGHANISTAN - One day after being declared the winner of Afghanistan's turbulent presidential election, Hamid Karzai turned his focus to unifying his country. Margaret Warner reports from Kabul. For perspective on the election's impact on military strategy, Gwen Ifill speaks with Congressman James McGovern, a Massachusetts Democrat who has called for the US to ramp down its military presence in Afghanistan and James Dobbins, a career diplomat who was the top US official at the international conference that installed Karzai as president in 2002. Dobbins is calling for the US military presence to be increased.
    MADOFF FALLOUT - Bernard Madoff is behind bars and today, his longtime accountant pleaded guilty in Federal Court to charges stemming from his role in the giant ponzi scheme. Judy Woodruff reports and speaks with Diane Henriques, a senior financial writer at the New York Times who has been covering the story was in the courtroom.
    CLIMATE OF CHANGE - A key Senate committee opened hearings Tuesday on a bill to curb greenhouse gas emissions, but Republicans largely boycotted the debate.
