This is the only major racetrack in Northern California and thoroughbreds first started racing here back in 1941. This track has seen some truly great racehorses over the years including Noor, Citation and one of the sport's most popular horses, the legendary John Henry. We are going to take a look behind the scenes and meet some of the people that make horseracing happen at one of the best places to visit in the Bay Area. We aren't going to teach you how to handicap horses or place any 2-dollar bets but we are going to introduce you to a number of winners.
    * Along the way we are also going to profile a very unique friendship between a local Marin firefighter and his rescue dog partner that will just about melt your heart.

Morwenna calls an ambulance, but the Doc decides there is no alternative: he must operate now on Eleanor in his surgery or she could die. Dr. Martin Ellingham is planning to leave Portwenn in a week's time to resume his career as a surgeon, leaving Louisa and the baby in the village. Gordon Runs Dry - When a stone bounces off his boiler, Gordon doesn't wait to be checked over and hurries on his way, only to find that he has to keep stopping to take on more water. When Gordon finally runs out of water, he realizes that his boiler was damaged by the stone and has been leaking. Soon the once proud engine is being shunted to the Steamworks to be repaired.     * A Polar Adventure - Nick and Sally have lost Teddy outside, they need to find him, bears don't like the snow! Well some bears do, proclaims the Cat. In Freeze-Your-Knees-Snowland, Cat's friend Polly the polar bear loves the snow! They meet Polly and her two bear cubs and learn how their thick fur keeps them warm and how their long claws keep them from slipping on the ice. When a storm blows in, Polly keeps everyone warm in her den. Polar bears really do like the cold! Back home, Sally finds Teddy buried under the snow, but he was nice and safe in his own little den!

But everything turns out all right: Dad explains that wishing for something doesn't make it happen, and the well-adapted, warm-blooded, feather-covered Soren successfully hatches her babies. While visiting the North Pole, the Conductor suggests that the family stop off at Aurora Borealis Station on an enormous frozen lake to see the Aurora Borealis, where the Northern Troodons celebrate a "Festival of Lights." While the kids wait for night to fall and view the Aurora Borealis, they work up an ice-skating show to entertain Mom and Dad. One day when Sir Topham Hatt leaves his handbrake off, Winston starts to roll forward on his own and is soon racing down the tracks without a driver.     Bob the Builder [#710H] Part of the Team Here Comes Muck - Bob is building a new garage for the team. His design includes roll-up doors for each machine's berth and Muck is particularly thrilled and decides that she wants to be 'first out the door'! Her big opportunity comes when her old garage shed, complete with doors, is left in a field to serve as a sty for Farmer Pickles' pigs. Muck happily goes in and out of it, practicing her entrance. Bob completes the garage, including the new doors, and the machines all join together to perform their spectacular entrance, with Muck at the center! Scrambler Gets Clean - Scrambler is impressed with himself and feeling very brave today - but the feeling doesn't last long. A machine wash is to be built at the yard and Scrambler doesn't think that it sounds amazing like everyone else does; he secretly thinks it sounds pretty scary! When he sees all the huge fixtures and fittings, Scrambler's fears grow - he must avoid getting washed! But on his way back, Scrambler skids and the shower head gets dropped in a large puddle of mud. Scrambler bravely ventures in to the mud, knowing he'll need a wash! But in the end the bravest thing Scrambler does is to own up to everyone about his fears. Through a game of hide and go seek in the jungle, the kids learn how Gecko not only hides, but how he runs and climbs. Now Sally knows how to camouflage herself so she won't be so easily found!
