[#134H] The Mindysphere/Lone Star Mindy's mom has gradually been giving Mindy permission to go a little bit farther in the neighborhood on her own, and Mindy is trying to map out exactly what her boundaries are. Sean compares her "Mindyspere" to the helisophere-the boundaries of the Sun's influence. The kids get Celery to fly them out past the heliosphere into true interstellar space. Back on Earth, they make their own Voyager 1 (out of a wagon) and take Mindy to the outermost edges of the Mindysphere! / Sydney knows a lot about Boxwood Terrace's early history, and she tells Jet stories about a local pioneer who went by the nickname "Lone Star." He got that name because he was an early astronomer who liked the hills of Boxwood Terrace for their excellent views of the night sky, and built the first Observatory on the hill that now sits at the center of the Deep Space Array. They pass workmen who cheer for Ferdinand (not for Gordon or the Lion of Sodor!). Gordon comes up with a plan to take the quiet tracks across the Fenland but he goes too fast and the Lion of Sodor falls into the river. Gordon realizes he was wrong to think he was grander than Ferdinand. Ferdinand helps Gordon to get the Lion of Sodor back and they take it to the Steam Works to get it gleaming again. Toby and Bash - Sir Topham Hatt gives Bash a reward for being a Really Useful Engine. His reward is to spend the day with Toby to pick up the children at Knapford Station. Then they heave and haul slate to Brendham Docks. They are tired and Bash needs a rest so Toby brings him to Arlesdale End. Bash thinks Arlesdale is beautiful and Toby lets him sleep there. Toby thinks that Bash would like a home of his own on Sodor and they set out to find the perfect home. They visit the Fenlands but Bash is scared of the ducks and go to Farmer McColl's field but the cows scare Bash. Toby realizes that Bash just wants his home to remain on Misty Island. As Percy is thinking about this, Gordon rushes past and frightens him by going so fast and being so loud. Percy realizes that big things can scare little things, so Percy decides to approach the animals again, but this time he is very gentle and quiet. Soon the rabbit, the squirrel and the bird have hopped onto Percy's buffer. Percy takes his new friends to meet the other engines. Emily and Dash - Emily is given the special of looking after Dash and taking him to the Children's Steam Fair. Emily sees that Dash can make special tweeting noises with his whistle. Emily pushes Dash to show her how to make tweeting noises again and again. Dash warns Emily that he'll run out of fuel but she doesn't listen and Dash runs out of fuel. He gets stuck and can't move to go to the fair. Emily goes to the fair instead and tries to tweet again but everyone just thinks she is being funny. Emily realizes that she has been a silly engine and needs to help Dash. Emily makes everything better by getting fuel for Dash and bringing him to the fair. Say Lettuce!: Caillou wants to take a picture of a bunny rabbit in Grandma's garden, but it proves a harder task then he originally thought. With a little perseverance (and a little lettuce from the garden) he finally sees the task through to the end - and gets a photo he's proud of! Educational Objective: Perseverance. ' Caillou Tries to Whistle: Clementine can whistle, and Caillou can't! Caillou tries his best to learn and practices every where he goes... but he just can't seem to get the hang of it and this embarrasses him. Mommy and Daddy reassure him this skill will come with time, but Caillou feels much better when he realizes there are things he can do that Clementine can't do - like wiggling his ears! Rockets Under the Stars: Mila is appearing on the children's TV game show, "Whiz-A-Quiz", and Bob and the team are building an outdoor movie area so that the Spring City community can watch the show together. Lofty is so thrilled to help the Spring City Rockets decorate the stadium that he leaves Leo to finish building the support frames for the giant screen all by himself. The frame cannot hold the giant screen and it falls apart, breaking the frame, stage, and audience seating. After a hard day's work, the team completes the job and the community gathers to watch Mila win the trophy for Spring City. Learning Goals: To observe how things balance and how position and/or weight change can impact balance. To understand the importance of taking responsibility for one's actions. Winter in Spring: Spring City is celebrating winter with the Winter in Spring Festival! Bob and the team are building a triple chairlift to transport passengers to the top of Observatory Hill for the occasion. When Skye offers Bob a snowboarding lesson, Scoop decides that he wants a try at the snowy hill, too. Despite Wendy's warnings, Scoop slides down the slope anyway. He crashes into the support beam and the chairlift cable jumps off the wheel tracks. Chairlift passengers Mila, JJ, and Skye are dangling from the cable and Bob snowboards swiftly down the slope to the emergency break. After the chairlift is repaired, Bob joins Mila and JJ for snowboarding stunts at the opening of the festival. Learning Goals: To compare and contrast seasonal differences. Eugene is a smaller version of Hank, an armored dinosaur with a giant tail-club. Hank and Eugene really hit it off, and after they all play Dinoball, Hank recruits Eugene to play on his team!
    * Pterosaur Flying Club - Tiny and Shiny practice their swoop-de-loops and other flying moves in anticipation of their play-date with fellow Pterosaurs Petey Peteinosaurus and Quincy Quetzalcoatlus. With Buddy helping with the choreography, the Pterosaur Flying Club puts on a flying show!

It's up to the gang to find Dustin and bring him back before the race starts. But looking for a small green bug turns out to be more easily said than done!
    * Fall For Hal - The first day of fall is Hal's favorite day of the year. It's when he always goes on his First Day of Fall Scavenger Hunt. But there is a big problem this year. Hal is sick and can't get out of bed! When it looks like Hal is in for some major disappointment today, Nature Cat comes up with a great idea: they will bring fall, and all the items on his scavenger list, to Hal!

The race is tight until Celery uses the kids' proposed secret "strategy" - a "gravity assist" off of Jupiter, to increase their saucer speed, and win! / Jet uses his Bortronian skills to test his first experimental Time Machine so he and his Earthie friends can go back to an exact time - 3 minutes earlier - in order to see a spectacular moment in a meteor shower that they missed.       Next week, Sutro Tower will be switching most stations to their auxiliary antennas. KQED TV will be at half power on the lower auxiliary antenna, this will affect some of our Over The Air viewers. Maintenance is scheduled on August 21-25 from 9am through 4pm daily.
