Eventually the kids befriend him, and they teach each other their own unique way to catch fish. With the help of his firefly communicator, they find out that George is lost and needs help finding the Firefly Fiesta! Thunderstruck - It's Nature Scrapbook Day today! Nature Cat and his pals are out in nature, taking photos, drawing pictures and collecting various aspects of nature to put in their nature scrapbook. Suddenly, a thunderstorm causes the gang to seek shelter in Hal's doghouse.     Ready Jet Go! [#134] The Mindysphere/Lone Star Mindy's mom has gradually been giving Mindy permission to go a little bit farther in the neighborhood on her own, and Mindy is trying to map out exactly what her boundaries are. Sean compares her "Mindyspere" to the helisophere-the boundaries of the Sun's influence. The kids get Celery to fly them out past the heliosphere into true interstellar space. Back on Earth, they make their own Voyager 1 (out of a wagon) and take Mindy to the outermost edges of the Mindysphere! / Sydney knows a lot about Boxwood Terrace's early history, and she tells Jet stories about a local pioneer who went by the nickname "Lone Star." He got that name because he was an early astronomer who liked the hills of Boxwood Terrace for their excellent views of the night sky, and built the first Observatory on the hill that now sits at the center of the Deep Space Array. Porter, a new steam engine, arrives to help out, but Salty becomes convinced that Porter has been sent to replace him. Salty is sent to the Dieselworks, but rushes away as soon as he is repaired, spilling oil over himself. Salty races back into the docks slipping and sliding out of control. When Porter saves Salty from causing an accident, the two engines become the best of friends. Gone Fishing - Bill and Ben, the tank engine twins, see Harvey, the crane engine, at Brendam Docks. They tease him about having a hook and ask if he is going fishing. Caillou gets frustrated while learning to tie his shoes, but by watching Rosie he learns you can succeed if you keep trying. Also today, Caillou goes to the swimming pool where Daddy teaches Caillou how to swim. After a few lessons, Caillou gets better and better and soon he can swim on his own. Then, Caillou discovers baseball for the first time. He wants to play and patiently Dad works at teaching him. Caillou is all ready to throw in the towel as each toss passes him by, but when he sees Sarah and Billy really doing it he gets an opportunity to practice what he's learned.     Bob the Builder [#926] Scoop's Shockers Scoop Cries Wolf: Bob is building an ice cream kiosk at the beach. When a tired Scoop stays behind, he finds spurious reasons to radio Bob, urging him to return to the yard. A real crisis occurs, however, and Bob doesn't believe it's anything serious until Scoop brings a burning bin to the beach. It falls onto the kiosk roof but Scoop swiftly extinguishes the fire by pouring sand onto it. Learning Goals: To experience why exaggeration can cause problems. To learn about fire safety. To observe how proper sleep is important to good decision making. The Big Bang: In order to make room for the new skyscraper, Bob and the team are demolishing an old factory. Lofty is fearful when they plan to use explosives to bring down the chimney. Scoop taunts him around the site, causing loud noises to scare him. With Scoop's loud 'KA-BOOM' shout, Lofty reacts by accidently smashing the girder into the chimney, causing a hole. This hole could cause the chimney to fall onto the street. The team patches the hole and Lofty prepares for the explosion. Afterward, he realizes that there was nothing to be afraid of after all, while Scoop cowers in fear. Learning Goals: To show safely demolishing a building takes skill and practice. To explore scaring and teasing and the effects it has on others. To learn to apologize. Daisy needs help to try and find another science project to exhibit at the Animal Science Fair and gets inspiration from an unlikely source: plants that move!       Next week, Sutro Tower will be switching most stations to their auxiliary antennas.
