Freedom Riders: American Experience The powerful harrowing and ultimately inspirational story of six months in 1961 that changed America forever. From May until November 1961, more than 400 black and white Americans risked their lives - and many endured savage beatings and imprisonment - for simply traveling together on buses and trains as they journeyed through the Deep South. Deliberately violating Jim Crow laws, the Freedom Riders met with bitter racism and mob violence along the way, sorely testing their belief in nonviolent activism. Veteran filmmaker Stanley Nelson's documentary is the first feature-length film about this courageous band of civil-rights activists. Gaining access to influential figures on both sides of the issue, Nelson chronicles a chapter of American history that stands as an astonishing testament to the accomplishment of youth and what can result from the incredible combination of personal conviction and the courage to organize against all odds. duration 1:55:46   STEREO TVPG-VL (Secondary audio: DVI)

Frontline [#2607H] Rules of Engagement Frontline cuts through the fog of war to reveal the untold story of what happened in Haditha, Iraq - where 24 of the town's residents were killed by US forces in what many in the media branded "Iraq's My Lai." With accusations swirling that the Marines massacred Iraqi civilians "in cold blood," the Haditha incident has led to one of the largest criminal cases against US troops in the Iraq war. But real questions have emerged about what really happened that day, and who is responsible. Through television interviews with Iraqi survivors and Marines accused of war crimes, Frontline investigates this incident and what it can tell us about the harrowing moral and legal landscape the US military faces in Iraq. duration 56:46   STEREO TVPG (Secondary audio: DVI)

Angels of Milot: Haiti's Aftershock Hopital Sacre Coeur (Hospital Sacred Heart) at only 73 beds is the largest private hospital in northern Haiti, located in the small village of Milot. To provide the best possible health care for the people of Haiti.
Thankfully, mercifully, Milot is spared major damage with no loss of life when the 7.0 magnitude earthquake strikes Haiti January 12, 2010. The hospital is operational and awaits an influx of patients who will eventually lose their limbs to amputation then will face a lifetime of challenges in this underdeveloped country whose geography and civilization are not at all welcoming to living life disabled. How does a hospital with only three full time doctors, two operating rooms and one delivery room prepare to handle a tragedy of this scale?

First they see two ants, and after looking at them through their magnifying glass, they learn that ants never sleep. Next they see two ladybugs and learn that ladybugs smell with their feet. When a butterfly flutters in, they wonder where his friends are and worry that he is lonely. Elmo decides to pretend to be a butterfly so he will have a friend, but the butterfly won't come over to Elmo. Telly checks the book and learns that butterflies go through a metamorphosis, or a big change, which is made up of 4 stages-starting as an egg and changing into a caterpillar then a chrysalis and finally a butterfly. Maybe if Elmo pretends to go through the four stages, the butterfly will think Elmo is a butterfly and be his friend. It works and the butterfly flutters over and lands on Elmo. They head over to Hooper's for a snack, and after checking their book, they learn that butterflies actually drink nectar from flowers or juice from fruit. Chris prepares them a snack of sliced oranges and they watch the butterfly drink with his proboscis, which is a curly little thing that unrolls and becomes like a straw that he drinks through. As Elmo begins drawing a picture of his new friend, Chris explains that he is a Monach butterfly. All of a sudden lots more Monarch butterflies flutter in and Telly checks the book and explains that Monarch butterflies migrate, or move, when the seasons change.
